Practicums are a valuable opportunity to get hands-on field experience.
They are available in clinical counseling psychology, forensic psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, counseling, school psychology, and sports psychology.
It is best to discuss your interests with the faculty advisor assigned to that area. They can recommend placements and help you decide on the best one for you and your academic/career goals.
It is then the student’s responsibility to find a practicum placement.
You will need to contact the organization, discuss your interest and desire to complete your practicum there. They will need to have 120 hours of work (related to the field of psychology) available for you during the semester.
Once you secure a placement, you will need to complete a Practicum Application. Your placement will need to be approved by your faculty advisor and Dr. Sanders.
Please see the Practicum syllabus for more information
If you have any questions, please email Professor Akin at email@example.com.
Prerequisite: Permission of chair and supervising faculty member.
